Flooding In Boston, Lincolnshire - 6th December - Second Night Of Floods

After last night's tidal surge that brought severe flooding to Boston, Lincolnshire, residents are bracing themselves for a possible second night of floods.  Although the flooding is unlikely to be anywhere near as severe as last night, seven Sever flood warnings remain in place in the Boston area.

December 6th - 21.10

Thankfully high tide has passed in Wyberton without incident and the defence walls have now been repaired.

December 6th - 20.05

Police now say around two hundred properties are at risk of flooding in Wyberton. Emergency services in the area evacuating those affected.

Some reports of fresh flooding at the RSPB reserve at Frampton Marsh.

December 6th - 19.15

The number of Severe flood warnings in the UK has dropped to seven. All of them are in the Boston area. Hopefully any flooding tonight will be very minor.

December 6th - 18.55

Lincolnshire police report that the affected area has now been limited to the area to the East of Wyberton Low Road and North of Slippery Gowt Lane.

December 6th - 18.45

Flood defences have been breached in Wyberton. All properties in this area should prepare for evacuation. Over the next few hours there will be an on-going operation by the emergency services to attempt to repair the breach.

There are currently no other issues in the Boston area. High tide is at around 8:20pm.
