Flooding At Gatwick And Horley 17th January 2014 - River Mole Bursts It's Banks - Pictures

17th January 2014

After a night of heavy rain, water levels on the river Mole, Gatwick stream and Burstow stream have once again risen to dangerous levels, bursting their banks in the Gatwick and Horley area causing surface flooding and potential danger to property as river levels continue to rise.

Latest: Our own car travelling from Horsham to Gatwick fell victim to surface flooding today at Rusper. Having been rescued by the AA, we are now waiting to hear what the damage is. The video below shows the flooded area that caught us out. We actually came through the water an hour before this video was shot and water levels were not as high. What appeared on approaching the water to be minor surface flooding, was actually quite deep and has damaged our car. Be very careful when going through surface flooding, and if you can help it, don't go through at all.
