On Monday the river Wey burst it's banks causing major floods across Surrey. Guildford is one of the towns that was badly affected by the floods. On Tuesday, on what was meant to be one of the busiest days of the year for shops, Guildford town centre was completely evacuated.
On Tuesday we also reported on flooding at Godalming, another town on the river Wey that has been affected by flooding. In Godalming, a multi agency rescue operation was lunched when homes were flooded.
Many homes and businesses were without power into Christmas day, and even now on Boxing day, some areas of Guildford remain under water. A short while ago Nathan Churchill posted a picture to Twitter of two men rowing a dinghy in a Guildford car park...
