The Met office have issued a Yellow warning of wind for all but the highlands of Scotland on Monday 1st of June, and the morning of Tuesday 2nd June.

The Met office have issued a Yellow warning of wind for all but the highlands of Scotland on Monday 1st of June, and the morning of Tuesday 2nd June.

An unseasonably deep area of low pressure is set to track across the UK on Monday (1st June) evening into Tuesday (2nd June), bringing gale force winds and heavy rain to most of the UK.

The Met Office have issued a Yellow warning of wind for all but the highlands of Scotland, with exposed Irish Sea coasts, and the south coast, expected to see the highest winds.

Gusts of 40 - 50mph are expected widely across all of the UK, and possible gusts or 60 - 70mph on the West coast and South Coast. Large waves are also expected to affect some coasts in the south and west at times.

20-40mm of rain is expected in northern and western areas on Monday afternoon and into the evening.

Given the unseasonable nature of this storm, there is potential for disruption to travel and outdoor activities. And with trees in full leaf at this time of year, there is potential for damage to trees that have been weakened by previous storms.
