It's going to be a fine and bright start to the Easter weekend with most of the UK seeing a good deal of sunshine on Good Friday, and during Saturday. Sadly the sunshine will not last through the whole of the weekend as an area of low pressure brings cloudier skies, scattered showers and cooler temperatures on Sunday and Monday.
So, Good Friday will be clear blue skies for almost all of the UK through the morning. The exception may be the far North West of Scotland where a weak weather front will bring some cloud and perhaps a few scattered showers. In the afternoon it will remain clear and bright for most of us. Some fair weather cloud over East Anglia and the south east in the afternoon, but nothing to really spoil the day. It will be be a much cooler day than Thursday though, with temperatures unlikely to get higher than the early teens. And after a cooler day, a wide spread frost is expected on Friday night into Saturday morning with temperatures at or below zero for the whole of the UK.
Saturday morning will be a cold start, but again for most of us it will be a clear and sunny start. The weather system over North West Scotland will have moved inland a little, bringing cloud and patchy rain to much of Northern Scotland. As the day goes on, more cloud will move into East Anglia and the South East bringing a few isolated showers. A little warmer on Saturday, with temperatures reaching into the mid teens in some areas.
Easter Sunday is the subject of an area of Low pressure coming from the south east, threatening to bring some quite heavy rain. There is still some uncertainty of how far north the band of rain will move, but for southern England it's looking to be a wet day with a chilly North Easterly breeze making things feel quite cold. The best of the weather will be in Scotland, North Wales and Northern Ireland where it will be a dry day with some sunny spells, but that breeze still making things feel quite cold.
For Easter Monday, it will continue to feel quite cold and breezy, but the are of low pressure will have moved away leaving us with dryer day. Still quite a lot of cloud about and one or two showers for England and Wales, but for Western Scotland and Northern Ireland it will be another dry day.
Whatever You're doing, enjoy your Easter weekend.
